I created this series of large encaustic portraits last year, in response to our nation’s current climate of divisiveness, racism, and sexism. I wanted to create something that honored those among us who are often vilified or discriminated against. The series (titled Sacred) is filled with symbolism, reverence, and love. It seems almost prescient of the current movement in America for racial justice and equity.
